To travel to the Czech Republic you need a Schengen visa. A tourist's passport must remain valid for at least 90 days from the end of the trip. The passport must have at least 2 blank pages.

From September 14, 2015 to obtain a Schengen visa All applicants must be fingerprinted. According to the new rules, all Russian citizens over 12 years of age who receive a short-term Schengen visa must undergo a fingerprinting procedure. The procedure includes taking 10 fingerprints (if possible) and a digital photo. The data will be stored in the database for 5 years, after which fingerprints will have to be taken again. When entering a Schengen country, holders of new visas will have their fingerprints checked with a special scanner.

Every citizen of the Russian Federation applying for a short-term Schengen visa must appear in person to one of the consular departments and authorized visa centers of the desired country. Fingerprints are taken in 2 minutes. The rest of the package of documents and the amount of the visa fee remained unchanged.

Accepting visa documents from tourists, who bought a package tour on Tutu.ru, is carried out as before. After tourists submit the required visa package to Tutu.ru in advance, the tour operator contacts the consular department of the embassy. Then a date and time for personal submission of biometric indicators is set. Tourists are accompanied to the consulate or visa center by representatives of the tour operator. The issuance of ready-made visas is carried out at the Moscow office of Tutu.ru or at the airport of departure (in agreement with the tour operator).

International passport and copies of all data pages;

An application form filled out in English or Czech and signed personally by the applicant. The application form can be obtained from the consulate or printed from the consulate website (on 2 sheets on both sides). The form must be filled out by hand or on a computer in block letters;

Documents confirming the purpose of the trip: copies of tickets (air, railway, bus) or confirmation of round-trip ticket reservation; confirmation of hotel reservation (printouts from the websites of international booking systems, printouts of letters confirming reservations sent from hotels/hostels by e-mail, faxes are accepted), or vouchers of the inviting party in the Czech Republic (originals, fax copies) with the seal of the travel company. The hotel confirmation must contain the following information: name, address and telephone number of the hotel, first and last names of tourists, dates of stay, reservation number;

A copy of all pages of the Russian passport;

A document (financial guarantee) confirming the availability of sufficient financial resources for the entire period of stay in the Czech Republic and other Schengen countries. This is a bank statement from a current or deposit account, certified by the bank's seal and the signature of a bank employee, with confirmation of the balance of funds in the account;

A certificate from the place of employment on company letterhead, with the seal and signature of the manager, indicating the salary,

A copy of health insurance, valid for the entire period of stay and throughout the Schengen territory, with an insurance coverage limit of at least 30 thousand euros (you must also have the original with you at the time of submitting documents).

For children

For a child (under 18 years of age), a complete set of documents listed above is required, as well as:

Child's birth certificate (original and copy).

A completed application form. Instead of a minor, the application form is submitted by his parent or other legal representative. If the child is under 15 years old, the form must be signed by one of the parents. If the child's age is 15 - 17 years (inclusive), then the form is signed by one of the parents and the child.

For children over 6 years old and included in their parents' passport, a photograph must be pasted into the passport. A separate visa sticker is affixed to the child included in the parent’s passport.

Notarized consent for the child to travel to the Czech Republic (original and copy) - if the child is traveling accompanied by one of the parents or a third party, the power of attorney is signed by the remaining parent or both.

A certificate from the child’s place of education is also required. Pensioners provide a copy of their pension certificate, entrepreneurs - a certificate from their place of work or a certificate of income from the tax authorities or an income statement for the last quarter; photocopies of the registration certificate of an individual enterprise and the certificate of registration of an individual entrepreneur with the tax authority.

Citizens of the CIS and foreign citizens apply for a visa on their own through a consulate or visa center.

Russians can independently obtain a Schengen visa to the Czech Republic in the following two ways:

We applied for a visa both at the Czech Embassy and at the Czech visa service center in Moscow. The difference is convenience. The consular officer does not owe us anything, and therefore we signed up three times and twice they did not accept our documents, since there was always some kind of snag in them. Either the insurance is in dollars, or the voucher from the owner of the apartment is not the same.

Unlike the Embassy, ​​the Service Center owes us, because the document submission service is paid - 25 € for each applicant (except for children under 6 years old). Therefore, there is no need to call or make an appointment. In addition, they will help you fill out the form and correct errors (if any). Here you can get insurance and take photos. An application for a short-term Schengen visa to the Czech Republic for the purpose of tourism or treatment is usually processed by the Embassy of the Czech Republic within 5 working days (including the day of submission and issue).

When applying for a double entry visa, the applicant must present a policy covering both entries. Treatment is an official document from a medical organization in the Czech Republic, confirming the need for medical care in this organization. The document must indicate the length of stay and a preliminary estimate of treatment costs. It is also necessary to attach recommendations from the attending physician;

7 . Document on financial security stay in the Czech Republic and other Schengen countries (not older than 3 months). Financial support is confirmed when applying for a visa by presenting the original:

• statements from current or deposit bank accounts the applicant, certified by the bank's seal and the signature of a bank employee, with confirmation of the balance of funds in the account and an indication of the account owner (applicant). It is desirable (but not required) that the statement reflect the movement of funds in the applicant’s account for at least 3 months preceding the date of filing the application. A certificate of account status must be printed on the bank's letterhead, and must be certified by the bank's seal and the signature of a bank employee, or:
• certificate from work indicating salary;

• or a certificate from the place of employment in Form 2 of personal income tax, or;
• or a certificate in Form 3 of personal income tax with the seal of the tax authority, as well as a Certificate of entry into the Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs, or;
• or traveler's checks, indicating the owner, as well as a receipt for their purchase.

The Consular Section of the Embassy draws the attention of applicants to the fact that the savings book cannot serve as an analogue of the documents described above.

If your trip is paid for by another person, in addition to the above documents, you must provide a sponsorship letter from the person paying for your trip (in free form) and a copy of the paying person’s general civil/foreign passport (page with passport details). When crossing the border of the Czech Republic, a tourist must have financial means to meet personal needs: cash; or in traveler's checks; or on a bank card. The minimum amount you need to have is:

• 1010 Czech crowns(possibly in EUR or other currencies) for 1 day— when traveling for up to 30 days;
• CZK 34,340 (possibly in EUR or other currencies) - when traveling for up to 60 days;
• CZK 38,380 (possibly in EUR or other currencies) - when traveling for up to 90 days.

Persons under 18 years of age must have, depending on the length of stay, half of the specified amounts.

8 . Ticket booking confirmation on (for everyone back and forth). For applicants traveling in their own vehicle, a driver's license and vehicle registration certificate are required;

9 . Visa fees. The consular fee for receiving and processing a visa application for citizens of the Russian Federation submitting documents to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Moscow to obtain a short-term Schengen visa (single, double and multiple) is:

• children under 6 years old free of charge (children under 6 years old are exempt from paying service and visa fees);
• 35 euros(standard processing time is up to 10 calendar days);
• 70 euros (urgent processing within 3 working days).

Payment is accepted at the cash desk of the Consular Section only in cash in euros. Clean banknotes without damage, not torn, not wrinkled, without extraneous seals, notes, smudges, stains, punctures, etc. are accepted for payment. Coins - euro cents are not accepted!

11 . Scanned fingerprints. From September 14, 2015, a fingerprint scanning procedure has been introduced in all embassies and visa centers of the Schengen Union countries for adult applicants (except for children under 12 years of age). Fingerprints and digital photos will be stored in the general VIC (Visa Information Center) for 5 years. If you have already undergone this procedure within the current 5 years, you will not need to take fingerprints again. It is enough to indicate in the form when and where you underwent this procedure. After submitting your documents to the CC employee and paying the service fee, you will be invited to a finger scanning procedure, which will take no more than 3 minutes;

To obtain a visa to the Czech Republic, minor applicants (under 18 years of age) must additionally submit the following documents:

13 . Copy of parent's valid Schengen visa(parents) traveling with a minor for whom a visa was not requested at the same time as the parent(s);

14 . Consent of parent(s) to travel. If a person under 18 years of age travels to the Czech Republic accompanied by only one parent, it is necessary to present a notarized consent for the departure of the second parent. If a person under 18 years of age travels to the Czech Republic unaccompanied by parents, it is necessary to present a notarized consent to travel from both the father and mother;

General conditions for obtaining a visa to the Czech Republic

To submit an application for a Schengen visa at the Czech Visa Application Center and the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the applicant’s personal presence is required. The application can also be submitted using a power of attorney certified by a notary, if the applicant has previously received a Schengen visa.

Important! If, after receiving a visa to Prague (Czech Republic), the applicant changes travel conditions, hotel, hotel reservation or transport, then the consular department should be informed about this by email ( [email protected]).

• The form can be filled out by hand in block letters or on a computer. If you are doing this by hand, it is advisable to use a blue ballpoint pen;
• Handwriting should be as legible as possible; errors and corrections are highly undesirable. If you made an inaccuracy or any word is written illegibly, it is better to take a new form and fill it out correctly;
• applications are standard forms with questions already written down, in which there are empty spaces to fill out. Some items do not require detailed answers, so you can select the correct option by checking the required box;
• the application must not contain additional notes in unspecified places. The answers are located in strictly designated fields.

Filling out a Schengen visa application: step-by-step instructions

The application form for a Schengen visa is usually filled out in Russian, but it is also possible in Czech or English. Important: even when filling out in Russian, you must use Latin characters. The document should inherently disclose the purpose of the trip, as well as provide personal information about you. Let's consider step by step the points that you will encounter while filling out the questionnaire:

• Questions 1–3 require writing your full first and last name. If your biography included the fact of a last name change, it is worth noting this. If not, answer “no” in the corresponding field;

  The last name and first name should be written exactly as they are indicated in the passport

• Question 4 - date of birth. You provide data in digital format without month names or year indications. Dividing marks are also not placed. An example of correctly filling out the field: “27121997”, which means December 27, 1997;

  Those born before 1991 indicate the country of birth of the USSR, after 1991 it is necessary to write “Russia”

• Questions 5–6 require the applicant's place of birth to be indicated. Those born before 1991 enter USSR or SUN (USSR), after 1991 it is necessary to write “RUS”. Please note: if the city of your birth has been renamed, you indicate the original name. It is important that this data matches the passport;
• field No. 7 - citizenship of the applicant;
• Question 8 does not require detailed answers; you just need to indicate your gender by checking the box next to the appropriate answer option;
• in paragraph 9 you need to indicate your marital status (current). The correct option is marked with a tick;
• 10 - information about the legal representative of the applicant. This column must be filled in if the foreigner is incapacitated or if he has not reached the age of majority;
• 11 - identification number. Such a number is not provided in Russia (it is given if the applicant previously lived in the Czech Republic and received it there), so we answer “no” to this question;
• In paragraph 12, the document on which you are traveling is indicated. In most cases this is a “regular passport”. Please note that this means the traveler’s foreign passport, since you cannot visit the Czech Republic only with a Russian civil passport;
• Questions 13–16 require you to provide your passport details. It is important to rewrite everything correctly, since discrepancies in the information in the application form and the international passport will certainly cause a visa refusal or a delay in its processing;

  Point 18 of the application form is intended for applicants who do not have Russian citizenship, but reside on its territory with a residence permit or other permit

• 17–18 - your personal contacts are indicated here (telephone, current residential address, email). Point No. 18 is intended for applicants who do not live in the country of their citizenship. If this does not concern you, do not fill out the item;
• Questions 19–20 are related to your place of work or study. You need to indicate your current profession, as well as contact information about the organization where you work or study. Important: when indicating your profession, check whether you are naming it correctly. This is especially true for people filling out a document in English. In this case, it is strongly recommended to clarify the European name of the profession;

  The country of first entry is the Schengen state whose border you will cross first: this could be, for example, Poland or the Czech Republic (in case of a direct flight)

• Question 21 is designed to find out the purpose of your trip. Here you should check the box next to the most appropriate item. Please note that your intentions must be accompanied by supporting documentation, otherwise the visa will not be issued. It is important to indicate everything very honestly, since if the fraud is discovered after entering the Czech Republic, you will face deportation with all the ensuing consequences (entry ban, spoiled visa history, and so on);
• Questions 22–23 describe your intended travel route. The destination country is the Czech Republic. And the country of first entry will be the state of the Schengen zone, the border of which you will cross when entering first. It is his stamp that will appear in the international passport. This can be either the Czech Republic itself, if you are traveling by plane, or other countries;
• 24 is the multiplicity of your intended trip. Typically, when you first apply for a visa, you should not expect multiple entry permits. However, exceptions are possible. To do this, you will have to honestly justify the need for regular trips, and if the employees of the Czech Republic mission consider the arguments compelling enough, you will be able to obtain a multiple-entry visa;
• Question 25 - duration of the proposed trip. For a single-entry visa, the number of days is written - it will be indicated on the visa itself. Insurance must be issued for the same period and finances must be available. If a multiple-entry visa is requested, we set it to 90 days. This is the maximum period for any Schengen visa;
• 26 - data on previously received visas is indicated here. Their validity periods are in the passport;
• 27 - information about submitting fingerprints (if you have completed it previously). Applicants for a Schengen visa must undergo it once every 5 years. The date can be viewed in your passport with a visa marked VIS. If it is unknown, there is nothing wrong with that, you may simply be asked to submit your fingerprints again;
• Question 28 is intended for those who are traveling through the Czech Republic to a third country, that is, staying in the Czech Republic on transit rights. If the Czech Republic is the final destination, this item is not filled in;
• 29–30 - dates of your arrival and departure from the Schengen area. As in the previous case with the date, this paragraph does not require the use of letter values, separators, and so on. For a single-entry visa, the dates must correspond to the number of days of stay. For a multiple-entry visa, the total desired duration of the visa is indicated;

  Dates of expected entry and exit - here you need to indicate when you are going to cross the Schengen border (not the Czech Republic)

• 31 - information about where you plan to live during your stay in the Czech Republic. This could be a hotel, a private home with relatives or friends, or other housing. It is important that you have documentary evidence that you can actually move into this premises, for example, a hotel reservation or an invitation. Information about the receiving party is also indicated here if you plan to stay with friends (telephone number, address, etc.);

  You fill out paragraph 32 if you are opening a business visa and have an invitation from a legal entity

• Question 33 has two columns: for those who pay for their own trip, and for those whose trip is financed by a sponsor. It is necessary to select the appropriate option (or several) and confirm with the relevant documents;
• Questions 34–35 are for relatives of Swiss, EU or EEA citizens only. The details of relatives and the relationship between you are indicated. If you do not have such relatives, you do not need to fill out this item;
• 36–37 - your signature and date of application. Please note that you will also need to provide signatures on the last page that do not belong to any of the numbered items listed. 10. Receipt/check for payment of fees - consular and service. A receipt/cheque is issued after payment of money for services.
