In 1998, the brothers founded the company "Karenfor", which was formally engaged in investment, leasing and management of retail space. Then they founded about 20 more companies that rent out real estate and retail space. It is through these companies that the Manashirov family owns the capital's Prague Passage and Columbus shopping and entertainment centers, the GEM trade and exhibition complex, the Armada furniture center, and the Karenfor shopping center. The latter’s turnover for 2014, according to the SPARK database, was estimated at 230 million rubles. Now this business empire is managed by the Manashirovs’ trusted people.

Roman Manashirov ended up in the hands of the security forces in November 2015, when he began to solve the problems of his business partners - millionaire and former owner of the AST-Cargo company Zhanuko Rafailov and his brother Don.Back in 2013, Moscow police opened a criminal case against them for organizing illegal migration and underground sewing workshops in Irtyshsky Proezd in the Izmailovo area, where the legendary Cherkizon was located. The factory was discovered by accident, when an anti-criminal cleanup took place in Moscow in the summer of 2013 after an incident at the Matveevsky market. Their petitions for the release of the billionaire from the pre-trial detention center were submitted to the court. Roman is considered an influential member of the Russian Jewish community. Fellow countrymen flocked to the capital to follow the successful businessman, among whom were the brothers Roman and Solomon Manashirov. Since 1986, they worked together for their already eminent co-religionist, eventually becoming shadow managers of the trading division of Ismailov’s empire. The period of their hired work lasted exactly 10 years - from 1986 to 1996. 2 years after leaving for free swimming, the brothers headed their own brainchild, Karenfor LLC.

For entrepreneurs who have chosen retail as their main focus, this is simply an outstanding result. Moreover, the expert assessment of their capital is estimated at $700 million.

Everything seemed to be going orderly and peacefully, but the first alarm bell rang in 2009. "Cherkizon" Telman Ismailov ordered to live long. The black streak for the influential businessman has not ended since then. He was recently declared bankrupt by the court with a total debt of 200 billion rubles! The eternal and unshakable empire of the fellow countryman brothers collapsed.

For them, the troubles began in 2014. National mutual assistance has failed. Zhanuko Rafailov, their longtime friend and colleague from the days of the Cherkizovsky market, who oversaw Ismailov’s activities of such divisions as the AST Group and AST-Cargo companies, got into trouble. He ended up hopelessly in prison on an extensive list of serious charges. The enterprising Rafailov built an entire city for illegal immigrants almost in the very center of Moscow, in Izmailovo. More than a thousand Vietnamese, and with them a countless number of migrants from Central Asia and the Middle East, worked in underground factories, supplying counterfeit products to the shelves under the brands of famous brands - Adidas and Chanel.

Moreover, the migrants were placed in absolutely unbearable conditions - deprived of any documents and civil rights, like slaves in the galleys in the Middle Ages. The “caring” owner, however, tried to create his own infrastructure of public catering, shops, hairdressers and even brothels in Vietnam town, but not for the purpose of caring for his employees, but as a means of additionally pumping out earned money from them.

Rafailov’s father, a former famous Baku “guild worker” from Soviet times, should be proud of his son. He never dreamed of such scales and profits. All attempts by relatives to cover up the case or at least ensure Zhanuko’s release on bail were unsuccessful. It didn’t even help that in 2011, Zhanuko Rafailov, on his own initiative, organized a branch of the All-Russian Popular Front right in the capital of Great Britain! At the same time, he publicly swore several times his boundless love and loyalty to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The last hope of the Moscow slave owner was Roman Manashirov, who had cut his teeth in diplomatic negotiations with government officials, and whom the brother of the unfortunate Rafailov, Don, turned to for help. The tribesman could not refuse, especially since their fathers had been friends since the days of Baku and visited each other.
