How to get snls through mfc

In this article, we will tell you how to get SNILS at the My Documents MFC, at the Pension Fund, or through an employer.

What is SNILS and why is it needed

SNILS stands for Insurance Number of an Individual Personal Account. This number is a combination of 11 digits like 123-456-789-12, unique for each citizen. The word SNILS is also called a green card containing the specified number and owner's data - full name, date and place of birth. This card is also called "Insurance certificate" and must be kept by its owner.

Why is SNILS needed? It is required:

  • for the formation of a pension;
  • to simplify the receipt of all kinds of public services, in particular, through the website gosuslugi.ru;
  • when applying for a job;
  • when applying for benefits;
  • in many other situations.

If you or your child does not have SNILS, we highly recommend getting it! Life will become noticeably easier.

Who can get SNILS

SNILS can be issued to citizens of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens and stateless persons residing in Russia. Applicants can receive SNILS both personally and through a legal representative, for example, through an employer. The organization that issues SNILS is the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation (PFR).

How can I get SNILS for a child and for an adult

If you do not have SNILS, it is not difficult to get it. It can be done:

  • in person at the nearest FIU branch;
  • in person at any MFC "My Documents";
  • through your employer. If you officially get a job, then your employer is obliged to pay insurance premiums to the Pension Fund, for which SNILS is required. If you don't have one, the employer can get one for you.

How to get SNILS at the MFC

It is most convenient to get SNILS through the MFC, since in multifunctional centers there is a convenient mode of operation without interruptions, and there are much more MFC offices throughout Russia than FIU offices.

To receive SNILS at the MFC, an adult only needs a passport, for a child - a birth certificate. If the child is 14 years old and has one, he can get SNILS on his own, otherwise any of his parents with a passport can apply.

Here is a simple step by step guide.

STEP 1. Find the nearest multifunctional center convenient for you, for this you can use in Russia, which is on our website. For insurance, you can call the specified number to make sure that this service is really provided at the selected MFC. You can also find this service on their website, the service is called "Certificate of Compulsory Pension Insurance (SNILS)" and is located in the section Individuals > Pension provision.

Full name of the service: "Reception of questionnaires from citizens for the purpose of registration in the system of compulsory pension insurance, including the acceptance of applications from insured persons for the exchange or for the issuance of a duplicate insurance certificate"

STEP 2. Make an appointment through the MFC website (if it is possible to make an appointment) and come at the appointed time, or just come during working hours and take an electronic queue ticket. Wait for the call, go to the indicated window with a passport (or a birth certificate, if we receive a document for a child who does not yet have a Russian passport) and fill out an application form for the insured person (form ADV-1) with the help of an employee.

STEP 3. Come back to the MFC at the appointed time and get an insurance certificate card.

What documents are needed:

  • for registration of SNILS for an adult - his passport
  • for registration of SNILS for a child - a birth certificate and a parent's passport

How to restore the lost SNILS

If the insurance certificate card is lost (lost) or has become unusable for some reason, it's okay. You can restore SNILS at the MFC, it's easy to do. It is enough to fill out the ADV-3 form of an application for issuing a duplicate insurance certificate and contact one of the My Documents centers. After 5-8 days, you will receive, instead of the lost one, a duplicate certificate with the same number that was assigned to you upon initial receipt of SNILS.

Also, on the issue of restoring SNILS, you can contact the PFR department directly at the place of registration or actual residence.

How to change SNILS when changing a surname

The citizen's data indicated in the insurance certificate card must correspond to the passport and other documents. Therefore, if you changed your last name, for example, after marriage, you need to change your insurance certificate card (your SNILS number will not change). Replacing a SNILS card when changing a surname through the MFC is just as easy to do as obtaining a certificate for the first time. To do this, you need to come to the MFC for an appointment, fill out an application for the exchange of an insurance certificate in the ADV-2 form, hand over the old certificate and receive a new one in 5-8 days.
