SNILS - insurance number of an individual personal account, which is assigned once in a lifetime to every citizen of the Russian Federation. A feature of this document is the immutability of the assigned number, regardless of the frequency of change of passport data, loss or theft of the document.

When can I get a pension certificate? SNILS can be obtained at any age. So:

• A personal account number can be assigned at birth to a newborn child;

• SNILS can be obtained at the age of 14, but only by adult representatives of the child;

What data is stored in the document? SNILS saves the following data:

Why does a child need SNILS?

Until 2011, obtaining SNILS for a child was not a mandatory procedure. However, since 2011, Federal Law No. 326 has made this procedure mandatory for every child.

In addition, the registration of SNILS for a child has a lot of advantages, both for parents and for the child himself. So, a parent of a child under a children's SNILS can receive the following services:

• Free medical care in public hospitals, clinics, hospitals;
• Providing free medicines for a child up to three years;

However, drug coverage may be extended until the age of six if the child is from a poor family. This must be supported by additional evidence.

• Pass examinations on modern devices in medical institutions where you need to stand in line;
• If the child has a degree of disability, then according to SNILS it is supposed to receive certain benefits;

According to SNILS, a disabled child is also entitled to an early pension.

• Obtaining other social benefits and child benefits;
• Fixing the length of service and insurance contributions to the pension fund;

Where can you apply?

To date, there are several instances of registration of SNILS for a child:

• Russian Pension Fund;

Both the parents/guardians of the child and the child themselves can apply to the Pension Fund at the place of permanent registration. This depends on the age of the child.

So, if a child is older than fourteen years old, then with the necessary list of documents to the Fund, he can apply in person.

However, if the child is under the age of 14, then his/her parents/guardians must apply to the Pension Fund with him/her.

• In the maternity hospital;

At the birth of a child, parents may ask to issue SNILS for him, or rather, assign him a number. If the maternity hospital is engaged in the preparation of pension certificates, then the finished document can be received within fourteen days.

However, be aware! That not all maternity hospitals are authorized to process this type of document.

• In an educational institution;

In this case, the administration of the kindergarten / school / gymnasium where the child is studying is in charge of preparing all the documents.

• In the registry office;

This is possible only if the body cooperates with the Pension Fund. In this case, upon receipt of a birth certificate for their newborn child, parents can immediately receive SNILS for the child.

• In a multifunctional center;

It is considered one of the most convenient ways to apply for a pension certificate: both in terms of submitting documents for obtaining a children's SNILS, and the procedure for obtaining it.

How to get SNILS through the MFC?

Through the MFC, you can submit all the necessary documents to receive SNILS for a child at a convenient time (from 8:00-20:00), avoiding unnecessary queues (you can make an appointment in advance). At the same time, unlike the FIU, which citizens can apply to at the place of registration, when applying to the MFC, it does not matter where the citizen is registered.

When applying to the MFC, you must provide the following documents to obtain SNILS for a child:

• Passport issuing SNILS for the child of the parent;
• Questionnaire filled out by the parent (forms ADV-1);
• Birth certificate of the child;

If the child has already received a passport, then he can apply to the MFC alone.

At the same time, the list of documents for obtaining SNILS is reduced to two:

• Self-filled application (forms ADV-1);
• Child's passport;

The time for issuing a SNILS pension certificate for a child through the MFC is three weeks.
