Foreword

People don't reach their full potential.

Almost everyone (and certainly those who are interested in this book) want to significantly improve their results: to grow, succeed and influence the world. But b O most of his God-given potential remains unused.

In striving to grow and develop as a person, most make two unfortunate mistakes. First, they are looking for answers not in themselves, but outside. They are sure that someone has already created a miracle cure, you just need to find it - and everything in their life will change.

Of course, no one admits to looking for a magic cure. But deep down, most people really hope that one day it will appear.

Having finally come to terms with the fact that there is no such means, people make the second mistake: they overly complicate the growth process. By zealously getting down to business and trying to take on personal responsibility, all but a few sages overly complicate the simple steps that achieve tremendous personal growth.

There are no miracles in this magnificent book. It is simple without oversimplification. You will find in it basic skills and immutable truths that have existed for thousands of years, but are still missing in the lives of most people. They are fun to learn, fun to learn, and amazingly easy to use.

I have known Roger Sipe for over twenty years and have worked and traveled with him. I see himself does what is taught in this book. In his very life, Roger proves that by understanding and applying the basic principles outlined here, you win.

And although there are no magic remedies, the results seem to miraculously. Memorizing information is three times better! Read two, three or even four times faster! Formulate goals in such a way as to facilitate the path to them, and manage time so that there is enough time for everything really important!

Does it really seem from the outside that this is impossible?

This impression is misleading. These are just the basics that anyone serious about this book will master. And this is just the beginning!

The principles and statements outlined here actually work. They have proven effective for thousands of people like you. You need to have the courage to believe that you too can create something outstanding, that you have the ability to assimilate this ingeniously simple information and the responsibility to apply it. Be free!

Introduction

How to break records

The first motivational speaker in my adult life I heard at the age of 19 - in May 1989 in Nashville, at the end of a sales training given by the Southwestern Company. The speaker's name was Mort Utley, and he made one of the most dampening statements I have ever heard.

"Most people don't get what they want out of life."

"What a longing," I thought. Mort is paid a lot of money to motivate people, and he goes on stage and declares that most people do not get what they want out of life. My 19-year-old brain flashed, “Thanks for the advice, Mort. And now you will probably say that French is spoken in France. Most don't get what they want out of life - huh? Why do you think I am listening to you at all? "

I didn’t want to be in that majority, and neither will you for sure. If you wanted to be average - with financial problems, ailments, and a lack of time that make it difficult to enjoy life - you would not read this book. However, you need to understand that there are many unconscious patterns of thought and behavior in your brain that get in your way. Here is one of them.

You have a strong urge to be mediocre.

Starting in elementary school, because of the learning system and the inherent desire for security in our brains, we have a strong unconscious desire to be like everyone else. We want to blend in with the crowd, to become mediocre.

Why am I starting with this? Mainly because if you're serious about living the way you really want to, first you need to understand: even in the most prosperous and technologically advanced society in human history. being mediocre is lousy!

But, as I said, you don't want to be average. Congratulations! By reading this book, you are already showing that mediocrity is not for you. You want to break records! In my book, you will learn basic principles that have proven effective over the centuries in helping people and companies achieve sustainable growth in all areas - professional, financial, physical, emotional, spiritual - as well as all types of relationships. Success has a great thing: it's easy to achieve. Not easy, but simple. Learn the basics, apply them diligently, and you will definitely get what you want.

Now re-read it and imagine that what you want has already come true. Imagine earning the right amount, getting a promotion, shedding 9 pounds, or meeting your ideal.

How are you feeling? Great, isn't it? I guess this is a good start. The book will explain to you how to take the seed of an idea and germinate it so that it brings not just a fleeting sense of joy, but fruit in the form real result and efficiently, joyfully and enthusiastically.

Let's start with three ways of thinking that affect success. By understanding these ideas and applying them, you will automatically start moving towards your goals. The better you understand them, the faster and easier you will achieve your goals.

The first feature of thinking: success provides clues

This means that achieving goals does not depend on magic, luck or circumstance, but on your way of thinking and action... Reread the goal you wrote down. Has anyone already managed to achieve results that you want to repeat or surpass? It's hard to find someone who will say no. Whatever you want to achieve, someone has already succeeded, and this is great news for you. Whoever achieved the desired result, you can be sure: he did it not because he was better or more successful in something than you, but because of a certain way of thinking and certain actions. If you develop the same thinking patterns and habits, you are almost guaranteed similar results. Success provides clues. Therefore, whatever your starting position, you are capable of reaching the finish line. At the same time, in order to get to the finish line as quickly as possible, it is best to find the one who did it and imitate his actions.

I found a great example of this idea in an interview with a very successful professional fisherman who specialized in bass fishing. He won tournaments more than once, no matter how bad the nibble was: he always caught fish, even when others failed. The reporter asked him, “How do you do it? What is the secret of your success? " The fisherman's answer confirms that success provides clues.

Fisherman:“Most people think that the main thing in catching perch is luck. Like, if you are in the right place at the right time with the right bait, you will catch a fish, and if you are not lucky, you will leave empty-handed. But I learned that in fact, the bite of a perch can be predicted on a scientific basis. If you take a specific body of water, then by season and weather you can roughly determine where the fish will be. It's easier to decide which methods of feeding the bait will work, and I find fish and experiment with spoons and feeding methods until I find an effective one. It's simple. Sometimes it's easier, sometimes more difficult, but a systematic approach always works best. ”

Journalist:“It sounds so easy that everyone can do it.”

Fisherman:- "Yes, probably so."

Journalist:- "Why, then, does not everyone have such a regular catch as you do?"

Fisherman:“Remember what I said at the very beginning. Most people think that the main thing in catching perch is luck. They simply do not understand that they can influence the result so strongly, and therefore they never try to find effective schemes of action. They just don't know about it. "

In life, everything is the same. Yes, there are circumstances, and often difficult ones, that need to be overcome. But your success is not a product of your circumstances, but of your behavior. Yes, most people don't get success; prosperity, relationships, health remain a dream for them. They think they are simply unlucky. And you find and those successful people - who have become who you want to be, who have achieved the results you want - and imitate their actions. Success provides clues. This is something that can and should be created according to someone else's model.

The second feature of thinking: what you see is what you get

When they say “what you see is what you get,” people most often mean the absence of “pitfalls”, the ability to take a person's word for it or accept the situation as it seems. I'm talking about something else: the pictures that you paint in your imagination are usually embodied in life. What do high-class athletes do before the performance? They imagine the desired result: how the ball hits the goal, how they perfectly execute the program. Whatever sport they do, mentally they see an exemplary result.

And athletes do this because they know: it works... They understand: the clearer they present the desired result, the sooner they will act in such a way as to achieve it. Again, this is true in everyday life: the more clearly you present the desired results, the more likely your actions will lead to them.

The third feature of thinking: what you are looking for is what you see

Probably, most of the time, pictures will appear in your imagination to which you will accustom your brain. A very important part of it can work for you or against you. It is the activating reticular system (APC), which acts as a "filter". She draws your attention to the fact that O you teach her to notice, and weeds out almost everything else. You are already familiar with the work of this part of the brain if, for example, you were choosing a new car. Once you've settled on a certain brand, where did you start seeing cars like this? That's right - everywhere! And not because they suddenly began to cluster around you; it’s just that you finally turned the switch that allowed you to notice them. And you could not help but see them. Now for the good news: you can use ARS to achieve your goals much faster and easier. Later I will return to ARS more than once; this system is very useful if applied properly.

Here's a crucial idea: your brain is always working. On you or against you, but constantly. And you need to understand: "by default" it works in such a way that it does not always help you in achieving the desired results. There are natural tendencies in his activity, and here there are three news for you: bad, good and beautiful.

Bad news: your comfort zone shackles you

One of the strongest tendencies in the work of the brain is called homeostatic impulse; it is the desire to maintain the current state of affairs. I will return to this in more detail later, but for now I will emphasize that as a result of evolution, the brain has acquired a strong ability to survive; he is exceptionally good at protecting your life. Maybe you do not like what situation you are in now, but the fact remains: it has not yet led to your death. As a result, your brain considers it safe and will resort to weird tricks to keep you in it. Are you familiar with cases when a person lost 9 kg, gained them again and lost weight again, and so on 4-5 times? Paid off all debt on loans, and then picked up debts again? Or over and over again entered into a relationship with representatives of the same type? These are all examples of the homeostatic impulse commonly known as the comfort zone.

This is bad news because growing in your comfort zone is not possible; you can only grow outside of it. I really like the illustration of this idea (Fig. 1).

Rice. 1. You can take your comfort zone to the next level.

If you want changes that will lead to long-term results, then you need to tackle your comfort zone: it holds you with incredible strength.

Good news

Now that I have convinced you that you can be forever stuck in the current situation, you must understand that such a fate can be avoided. You can certainly move your comfort zone wherever you want, and here's why.

You yourself have chosen your comfort zone, whether you realize it or not.

Albeit unconsciously, but you still chose her. This is encouraging: you are in control of your choices and therefore can deliberately abandon your current comfort zone and choose a different one. And most importantly, when you move your comfort zone to the next level, your life improves! You can permanently reposition your "internal adjuster" to a higher position. You will have to seriously tackle this task, study and get a little help from the outside, but it is quite feasible.

Great news: small changes are hugely beneficial

You don't have to get 100% better to achieve 100% better results; just get a little better. The principle applies here minimum overweight: A small change you need to make has a big impact on the final result. Take, for example, a game of golf: if you change the tilt of the club head by 1 mm, the ball will not land in the right place on the field, but will fly away to some unknown destination. In horse races, the winner is often a few millimeters ahead of the opponent, but this usually means a fourfold increase in the prize money. In sales, the smallest noticeable difference between competitors can mean one will receive all orders and the other none.

So you have reason to be optimistic: small improvements in the right area will lead to a significant increase in the bottom line. Here are some examples that I have observed in practice - among my clients:

The head of the company began to draw up the schedule for the week a little differently, and the company's net profit increased by $ 125 thousand.

The banking expert changed one element in her morning routine, and her income tripled in six months.

The sales rep just started to pay more attention to his facial expressions, and his results skyrocketed.

The teacher used the simplest form of "reading with the mind", and his student, who had hardly understood the text before, began to delve into almost everything.

And there are many such examples. The main thing is that you ultimately choose how you use your brain. This book offers you specific tools and skills to use your brain's power to move forward with confidence.

How to use this book

This is not just an interesting book for passive relaxation. She has two goals.

Become a tool for your continuous development.

Give you access to a system of accelerated learning and record results.

In the first section, we tweak your core learning skills - instant recall of information stored in memory and ability to “read intelligently”. You will be able to study so that your brain is more actively involved and you assimilate any information faster and for a longer period. Both parts of this section are Memory Optimized ™; there are links to interactive exercise videos at the end of each chapter. Memory Optimized ™ means you will be guided step by step through the fun and easy process of anchoring key positions in your long-term memory. Just follow the directions, go to www.planetfreedom.com/trainyourbrain and enter the access code from the About Planet Freedom section.

Read this section first, and most importantly, do the exercises to optimize memorization. Will it take a little longer than regular reading? Yes, but as a result, you will assimilate the rest of the information much more effectively and remember it better. The best teaching methods will not benefit you if you do not apply what you have learned, and for this you need to remember what you have learned. So take your learning seriously and proactively.

The following are four components to breaking records. When a person or company takes their results to the next level, you may notice that they are using the following four methods and apply them too.

Set energizing goals.

Act consciously and manage time correctly.

Build on core values.

Take care of your mind.

Chapters 7-17 explore how to take your skills to the next level using these four components. You will develop concrete plans that prove to be effective: they will help you quickly achieve long-term results in any important area of your life. Again, these chapters are accompanied by exercises and tools. As you read, take notes, and then reinforce what you learned before moving on to the next chapter. Approach this book from an active position: read it with a pencil in hand and write down your thoughts.

Sure, you can become whoever you want, do what you want and get whatever you want, but with your current thinking it won't work.

If you want to move to a new level, you must learn to think at a higher level. Many self-help books promise a "key" or "secret" and then simply declare, "You can do it!" This, of course, is good, but we are going one step further. We will teach you how to get from A to B quickly, efficiently and in a fun way!

The basics of your learning

The first foundation of learning

Instant playback of information stored in memory

Chapter 1

Unleash the power of your memory

As I said in the Introduction, the first six chapters of the book are devoted to the basics of your ability to learn, assimilate and reproduce the information you need for personal growth. In this part, you will learn what the learning process should be in order for your brain to function optimally. Let's start with one of the most popular areas: improving memory.

Think about how often and how differently you use your memory every day. If you find it difficult to answer this question, try to answer another one: "If you completely lost your memory, what could you do?"

The correct answer is "nothing." We come to this world with a working autonomic nervous system, which ensures correct breathing, heartbeat and other body functions. We also have congenital reflexes - for example, when the doctor knocks on the kneecap with a rubber mallet to see if the muscles contract. And nothing more. Everything else has to be learned. Even such elementary things as knowing one's own name and the ability to eat are acquired as a result of training. So practically everything in life requires the use of memory.

Think about the benefits of memory in your life today. At seminars run by our company, Freedom Personal Development, we often ask participants: "How would improving memory help you improve your performance or reduce stress?" Here are some of the answers we hear a lot.

From qualified professionals:

"I wish I could remember the names better!"

"I want to make presentations without looking at the notes!"

"I would like to memorize the characteristics of the products sooner!"

"I want to remember the dates and times of meetings!"

From students:

"I need to memorize the vocabulary of a foreign language!"

"I would like to remember mathematical formulas and equations!"

"I want to remember, for example, the preamble to the US Constitution, the names of all presidents, the names of all states and their capitals."

"I would like to be less nervous on tests."

Honestly, I could devote an entire chapter to a variety of examples of how memories become the tools with which we build our lives, but I will limit myself to the best news for you.

For whatever purpose and in whatever area of knowledge you want to improve your memory, you have absolutely everything to get your way. Many studies show that your memory is actually perfect; you never "forget" anything. Maybe you’re thinking, “Roger, I don’t understand you. I feel that I keep forgetting something! Why do you think I bought this book at all? " I understand why you have this sensation... But your brain actually captures everything: every book you read, every conversation, every person you meet. And the problem isn't really memorizing and in reproduction stored information.

Think of the last time you met a friend (and were sure you knew him), but could not remember his name. This is a common situation: it happens to everyone. Reconstruct it in your mind. You probably had a good conversation with this person? Several minutes were thrown around with phrases like "how are you, how is work, how is family", etc. And what was your brain doing while doing this? Strained in search of an answer to the question: "What the hell is his name?" But the name was not remembered during the conversation, and later. See: you haven't forgotten him, but you just couldn't recall at the right moment.

I could give many examples, but suffice it to say that your memory is actually excellent, and the problem may be in the reproduction of the information. And this is good: you can easily improve it. If you cannot remember some unit of information, it is because you initially saved it accidentally, thoughtlessly, unsystematically and unconsciously.

How did you once learn to learn

Chances are, you are one of the 99% of people who learned to learn in school through rote memorization. It is learning through simple repetition. You received information (from a teacher or from a book) and then repeated it over and over and over until it was imprinted on your brain (as you hoped). Sound familiar?

How does he serve you now? Not very good, I suppose. To prove this, I offer a simple two-question test.

Question 1. Have you ever studied biology?

Question 2. Without peeking anywhere, name all types of the animal kingdom.

In our seminars, all participants answer the first question "Of course", and the second drives them to a dead end. And that's okay: you don't have to know the types of the animal kingdom. But, studying biology, you definitely passed it. And if you ask: "Did you really learn it?" - the answer is likely to be negative. You do not learned this information and memorized... On the test, they vomited it on paper, and that was the end of it. This method helped you in school, but now you understand what the problem is?

During your studies at school and university, you constantly resorted to this technique, and you developed the habit of teaching everything like that. She's probably doing you a disservice now. Yes, rote memorization can provide a decent grade for a test, but life is not about tests that you learn about beforehand. Therefore, you need a teaching method that will do you a little more benefit. It is about him that you will learn from the first six chapters of this book, if you are ready to master something new and unusual ...

Learning Index

There is a specific way of thinking and acting to get any result. It is our responsibility to be receptive and flexible to adopt these ways of thinking and acting.

Bill Harris, Founder, Centerpointe Research Institute

The benefits you will get from this book or any teaching situation will largely depend on your individual characteristics. This material will change your life, but only if you meet the prerequisite: if you learn the material and apply it. And for this you need to know your learning index. It is an indicator of your readiness to learn. Whether you realize it or not, the Learning Index comes into play every time you try to master a new skill or better understand something. It has two components, and each of them is easy to assess on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 is the highest score).

The first component is yours desire to learn... This makes sense: in order to get the most out of a teaching situation, you must be willing to internalize what is being offered to you. And the following news should please you as a student: your desire to learn is at a very high level, 9-10 points on this scale. Congratulations! I can confidently state this without even knowing you: I know for sure that you have already spent something on yourself. You probably donated money for this book (thanks!), Or at least took some time for it to get to this stage. You wouldn't do this without a strong desire to learn. So, rate your current desire to learn on a scale of 1 to 10.

Write down your answer.

The second component of the Learning Index is a little more complicated. It's yours willingness to change, and it should never be overestimated. Anyone reading this book has a strong desire to learn. But no one has a great willingness to change. The reason is the comfort zone, which was mentioned in the introduction: we naturally have a desire to maintain the existing state of affairs and continue to do the same thing, even if it does not bring the desired results. I am not denying that you can have a high readiness to change. But if you want to increase it, you have to act consciously and purposefully. This will not happen by fluke. So how do you rate your current willingness to change?

Write down your answer.

Now, with the numbers in hand, you can measure your learning index by multiplying these two metrics. The highest possible score is 100 (10x10). Do it now and see what happens.

Assessment of willingness to learn × assessment of willingness to change = overall learning index.

Note: even if your desire to learn is 10 points, but the willingness to change is zero, then the overall learning index is also zero. For you to really learn something, both must be high. It is not enough to express a desire to learn - you really need to learn! You took this book because you want to improve your life, right? Of course, and if you really want to, you have to start changing. As the Chinese say, madness is "doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result."

Many people say that this is a useful exercise when the goal is to learn something new. The Learning Index is not a reason for judgment or frustration, but just a useful guideline. If someone has him higher than yours, it does not mean that that person is better than you; this means that he will achieve success faster.

And I'll give you tips to help you get the most out of these chapters on memory training.

First tip: do not evaluate the process; evaluate the result.

The method you'll learn here will definitely work, but it is different from what you are used to. Therefore, you will most likely have the thought: "This is somehow strange." Everyone who learns to train their memory goes through at least one period when it seems to them that all this is just a set of strange tricks. This is not true. And when you understand this, I recommend that you look at your Learning Index, get rid of negative thoughts and move on. Don't waste time and energy trying to critique or analyze this process — you will have plenty of time for that later if you continue to desire. You will learn much faster if not will evaluate the process.

But at the same time you must evaluate your results. That's how you are judged at work, isn't it? Do the same: use this process, follow my directions and see what you get. I think you will be amazed to see how quickly you can improve your abilities.

Second tip: have fun working on your brain!

One thing we do know for sure: Learning is ideally a fun process. It has two features.

First, remember the pleasure you experience when you learn something new. Have you ever been jet skiing? Snowboarding? Have you played backgammon? Learned to sell? Overcome fear? You were pleased when it started to work out, right? Your brain loves to learn new things, even if you didn't like school!

Second, we know for sure that the brain's fight-or-flight response to stress provides the worst possible state for learning new things. This reaction is very effective if you have already learned something and have reached a level of unconscious competence. But it also disables your ability to acquire new skills or assimilate new information. You remembered the name of that acquaintance later only because after he left took a deep breath and relaxed... While you racked your brains, communicating with him, your brain felt the same as the soldiers in battle! Sure, in a milder form (in the grocery store, the situation is not as tense as on the battlefield), but in essence the chemical processes and brain waves are the same.

Stress is the biggest killer of your mental capacity. So turn down the voltage. If you are stuck on something or are at a dead end, just take a deep breath, tell yourself: "I'll remember later", - and move on. Come back to this issue later. This is often enough to force the neurons to interact in the right way and lead you to the desired result.

Rice. 1. You can take your comfort zone to the next level

1. Become a tool for your continuous development.

Just follow the directions, go to www.planetfreedom.com/trainyourbrain and enter the access code from the section.

1. Set goals that energize.

2. Act consciously and manage time correctly.

3. Build on core values.

If you are stuck on something or are at a dead end, just take a deep breath, say to yourself: "I'll remember later," and move on. Come back to this issue later. This is often enough to force the neurons to interact in the right way and lead you to the desired result.

Get ready to learn and learn new and different things. You can do a lot more than you think. So go ahead and have fun!

Initial assessment of your memory

Before moving on to the next chapter, let's evaluate your initial data. Below is a list of 20 items. You need to study it as slowly and thoroughly as possible, but no longer than 5 minutes. Try to meet the deadline. It cannot be written down, all work must be done in the mind. When you are done, go to the test and, without peeping, write these 20 points in order, trying to reproduce it as best you can. Ready? Forward!

Unicorn

power socket

tricycle

SUV

can of beer

hockey stick

balloon

ducat (coin of 10 rubles)

Food sticks

black cat

dollar sign

Wizard

snowman

darts target

I repeat: study the list for no longer than 5 minutes. Then write these 20 points in their original order without peeking at the list. Get started.

Well, how's the result? If you are like most other people, then not very much. When participants in our workshops take this test, their average score is about 6 (out of 20). If you do better, congratulations! If not, don't worry. This score is only needed to assess the baseline data. But there are two important lessons to learn from your average test scores about how your brain works. wrap yourself to your advantage.

The first trend: the rule of "7 ± 2"

In the absence of a clear system, the brain is able to cope with a maximum of 5-7 units of information at the same time (but rather with 3-5). If you tried to learn this list of 20 points by rote memorization, you probably understood one pattern: the first 5-7 points were remembered well, and then difficulties began. If so, do not worry: the problem is not with you, but that you acted haphazardly. You were limited by your memory's ability to handle a small number of pieces of information.

By the way, if you still memorized more than 7 points, then you probably did not limit yourself to simple cramming. Some of the participants in our workshops receive a score of 10 or more on the test, and none of them use rote learning. They come up with an abbreviation or some kind of story with the participation of these objects, or they notice a certain pattern in the list - I will tell you about it shortly. Rest assured that without a method or system, your brain can effectively deal with about 7 units of information (give or take two).

Second trend: primacy and recency

One of the most common patterns that we see in the results of the original test is called primacy and recency... If you need to memorize a series of data, the brain usually captures information effectively at the beginning and end, and difficulties arise in the middle. Again, this does not mean that something is wrong with you: primacy and recency are a natural feature of the brain.

Understanding these trends brings us to the most basic principle of improving memorization: chunking. The principle is simple: you will automatically improve the brain's ability to reproduce the information stored in it by breaking it down into "digestible" pieces. Imagine that the test looks like this:

Unicorn

power socket

tricycle

SUV

can of beer

hockey stick

balloon

ducat

Food sticks

black cat

dollar sign

Wizard

snowman

darts target

Your result would be better. Why? More beginnings and endings! This alone can be a huge boon to your brain. Whenever you learn something, break it down into small “digestible” chunks if possible: chunks of information and periods of time. This even applies to our book: I recommend that you read no more than one chapter at a time. When you are finished, spend some time reviewing what you have gone through - in writing or at least in your head. Take a short break: stretch, drink water, be distracted for a few minutes. And then - and only then - return to reading. You will get much more benefit this way.

Now that you have an initial assessment of your memory and an understanding of the inherent tendencies of the brain, let's try to improve its performance. In the next two chapters, you will learn how to speak the language of your brain, mentally organize all types of information, and improve reproduction in a wide variety of situations. Go!

www.planetfreedom.com/trainyourbrain

Learn to speak the language of your memory!

Did you know that your memory has its own language? We touched on this issue in the introduction when we talked about what you see is what you get. The language of your memory (and all other brain functions) is images... Another useful trait is a strong tendency and ability of the brain to see them. The better you can visualize information, the easier it is to remember it.

This is good news: you are already thinking in images, even if you are not aware of it. If I asked you to remember 50 signs of your kitchen, what would you do? That's right - you would see mental image your kitchen! And thanks to this, they would be able to remember a lot of details, although they never memorized them on purpose. Learn to trust this ability, because right now we will begin to develop it.

Let's run the previous test again, but with a slight change.

1) unicorn

2) power outlet

3) tricycle

4) SUV

7) hockey stick

9) balloon

10) ducat (coin)

11) chopsticks

12) plate

13) black cat

14) gold

15) dollar sign

17) wizard

18) snowman

20) darts target

Actually, there were two changes: we split the list into parts and numbered the points. This "unicorn list" is the starting point for memory training sessions. In doing so, we find the following: when a person sees / knows the number of each item, this in itself creates a useful association. Most of these numbers have a logical connection with the object: one and a unicorn, a three and a tricycle, a dozen plates (a service for 12 persons). This is the method simple associations, and to start it fits perfectly. But it is much more useful to create a vivid image in your imagination. Even if there is no logical connection (for example, in No. 15 it is far-fetched, in No. 17 it is even more far-fetched, and in No. 19 it is completely absent), your brain needs an image. Take the test again, but first read the simple instructions. You will see the same 20 points, but this time, imagine the images as vividly and clearly as possible. Don't get off with the phrase “Come on, I get it”; spend a few seconds on each item, and then take the test. Draw these images in your imagination; study the list for no longer than 3 minutes.

1. Imagine a snow-white unicorn with 1 horn.

2. Imagine yellowish electrical outlet with 2 holes.

3. Imagine red tricycle bike with 3 black rubber wheels on which it rides 3 -year-old child.

4. Introduce SUV with 4 wheels, 4 doors and badge 4 × 4 on the body.

5. Introduce your hand with 5 fingers.

6. Present the packaging beer on 6 cans (choose your favorite brand).

7. Imagine a wooden hockey stick shaped like a number 7 .

8. Imagine big black spider with 8 feet.

9. Imagine how 9 nine graders are released into the sky 9 balloons in in 9th month of the year - September.

10. Submit a coin to 10 rubles - shining yellow ducat.

I will pause for a moment to give you time to mentally repeat the images you just created, and I remind you that you must see them as clearly and vividly as possible. Let's go further.

11. Imagine how subtle Food sticks similar to the number 11 are removed from the wrapper.

12. Introduce a service from 12 beautiful plates.

13. Introduce black cat On Friday, 13th numbers.

14. Imagine clearly a cast from 14 -Karat gold a coin (or maybe a bar, a ring or a nugget - the choice is yours).

15. Take two digits in the number 15 , combine them, and you get dollar sign.

16. Introduce 16 burning candles on the birthday cake. Maybe even sing a song of congratulations ...

17. Introduce the young magician wearing round-rimmed glasses who graduated from Hogwarts at the age of 17 years. (I warned that this association is far-fetched.)

18. Imagine snowman a, in shape similar to the number 8, which holds a broom, similar to a unit, - 18 .

19. Imagine 19 sweaty men in sauna(I warned that there is no logical connection, but you can still see them, right?)

20. Imagine a brightly lit circular target for darts with 20 sectors and number 20 upstairs.

Now mentally repeat the entire list and imagine these images clearly and clearly. Ready? Without peeping, write down these 20 items from the unicorn list. If you "skid" on some one, do not be nervous, but miss it - you will come back to it a little later. Get started.

How are you doing this time? Better, I guess. In our seminars, the average score on the second try jumps from 6 to about 18, and most reproduce the whole list. Why?

Firstly, this is already the second attempt, which in itself gives an advantage. Another help is the logical connection between the content of most items and their number. And most importantly, you created a vivid image for each of them - in fact, you spoke the language of your memory. Just for fun, take another quick test.

Without peeping, answer what was under these numbers:

And under what number were:

Chervonets?

Dollar sign?

See? Even when the items are randomly arranged, the images help you!

Two pluses and one big minus of this exercise.

The original exercise has two very useful features for training the brain and one huge problem. The helpful traits are: first, by following my instructions, you first began to use your brain's visual centers more purposefully; second, you probably have more confidence.

Both of these benefits play a very significant role in your success - you probably do not yet realize their full importance.

The huge problem is that all the items on the list are specially selected. I know this, as well as the fact that life usually presents us with information not in such a way that it is convenient to turn into images, as in the examples "4 is an SUV", and "11 is chopsticks." But now you understand How quickly can you achieve success if you practice a little? Did you feel more confident, even a little? It should be so. Who knew you were such a genius?

Yes, life very rarely gives us names of people, details of conversations and all other information complete with such convenient associations; which is why you will need what can provide instant playback... If you can get rid of the need for logical connection, then you have the tools to reproduce literally anything at any time. This is what will be discussed now.

Mental folder system

Imagine you are in the office of a Fortune 500 company right now. We are standing in front of the closet where folders with information about all the clients of this company are collected. There are hundreds of thousands of folders, and they are organized alphabetically by customer last name. Imagine that I asked you to get:

Your folder;

My folder;

The folder of a certain Arturo Rodriguez.

Can you quickly find these folders? Of course! And why?

Because this information is organized by a specific system.

You may have thought, "Because they are alphabetical," and that is also true. I said that the information is organized alphabetically, but you could find these three folders (or any others) quickly with just due to the presence of a certain system. To your brain naturally peculiar work on the same principle, using an information organization system. You sometimes find it difficult to remember what you need largely because you have never been taught how to mentally organize information. But there is a great opportunity in this feature of the brain: when you finally develop an organization system for your brain and speak the visual language of your memory, you begin to store and recall information so efficiently that you gain a huge competitive advantage.

Here's how to proceed.

We are creating a "Mental Folder System". Its other name is POK. This acronym stands for three components you need to instantly remember anything from names to presentations, from this book to your shopping list and where you left your keys. This is an excellent system.

"P" means "folder"

"O" means "image"

"K" means "glue"

Let's consider these components in detail.

"P" means "folder"

The first thing you need for instant playback is folder; it's just a place to store information. What can be used as a mental folder? Everything you can see. Anything that you can see - with your eyes or in your mind - will be a great place to store information: your house, office, car, body, etc. Literally everything that you see. With this book, you will have two storage systems.

"O" means "image"

We have already found out that the language of memory is images... If this is still difficult for you to understand, think: faces are much easier to remember than names, right? How many times, having seen a person, have you said to yourself: “I recognize the face, but I don’t remember the name”? The opposite never happens. When you see a person, you do not say: "Ah, you are Roger Sipe, but I do not remember your face!" Your brain loves images, and the clearer and brighter you can visualize information, the easier it is to remember it later.

"K" means "glue"

This is where the magic happens. When you have a folder for storing information and the information itself in the form of a vivid image, you will need paste it in a folder so that it is saved there. What makes strong adhesive? Made of two components.

Actions and emotions

The more action and emotions associated with your images, the better they will be saved in your folders.

Are you able to remember all the times when you were driving? Of course not, but you can you remember those times when you had an accident or you were stopped by the police. And why? Lots of action and emotion. Can you remember where you were and what you did on August 11, 2001? Probably not, but for sure you can clearly remember all the details of your life 11 september the same year. Why? Lots of action and emotion.

How do you take advantage of this? When you create mental images and paste them into your folder, actively fill them with action. Let them be as bright, crazy and bizarre as possible. Images in which something is happening are much more effective than motionless ones. As one client of mine commented, "The brain remembers videos better than photographs." Images that make you laugh or disgust, seem ridiculous or even vulgar, are much more effective than logical, but boring or ordinary images. Any memory champion of the world (yes, such championships are held, and their participants demonstrate amazing abilities) will tell you that it is useful to think vulgarly to create memorable images. So include as much action and emotion as possible in your imagery.

Your first storage system is your body

We already said that O can be turned into a folder: what you can see or imagine. The first system that we usually create in seminars is called Your Body Folders. She is beautiful for a number of reasons:

You can see her.

She is always with you.

You know your body parts perfectly, so this is an easy task.

Here I will describe the same bodily folders that are created in my seminars, in the same order and with the same names. Because the format of the book creates certain limitations, I will not go into the specific reasons for using this order and titles, but rest assured: they are applied in a meaningful way. Again, do not evaluate the process, but your results. You will use 10 body folders in the following order:

1. Feet(your feet).

2. Your shins.

3. Your hips.

4. Your buttocks.

5. Your stomach.

The belly is the so-called central or middle folder. We've gone half the list. Notice that we get to about the middle of the body. It is not necessary to create a central folder, but it is very useful as it allows you to take advantage of the principle of information separation. We recommend that you use it every time you create a storage system. Let's go further:

6. Your ribs.

7. Your collarbone.

8. Your mouth.

9.Your nose.

10. Your forehead.

Repeat them mentally, even touch them all in order. Now, to consolidate the knowledge, write it down. Don't peek and try to remember as much as possible. If you get stuck on a folder or two, don't worry - write down the ones you can. When you reach the end, try to remember the missing names. If you fail, you can peep the answers.

Body folder # 1

Body folder # 2

Body folder # 3

And to keep them even stronger, write them down in reverse order. Don't peep at all this time.

Perfectly! You now have a great system! I myself saw how our clients successfully stored various important information in their bodily folders: shopping lists, to-do lists, huge diagrams with a lot of digital data, foreign languages - whatever. Q. We'll use your body folders (and another storage system you've already developed but probably didn't realize) to learn all the basics of this book; we will also learn how to use these systems to improve your intelligence in other ways.

Before I go any further, I want to give you a little encouragement about learning in general. I understand that you are probably not used to working with a book this way and the process is awkward or embarrassing. These feelings can persist for some time. Therefore, at the end of this chapter, I want to tell you the following:

1. If you are a little uncomfortable, understand that this is a normal and necessary part of learning new things.

2. I have already warned that awkwardness and embarrassment can arise, but you will succeed. Don't evaluate the process - evaluate the results. Sometimes they come quickly, sometimes you have to wait a little for them. The learning rate is individual.

3. You are probably familiar with the saying: "If it is worth doing something, then it is worth doing it well." And from Brian Tracy, I learned: if something is worth doing, then it is worth doing it ineptly- at first. I'm serious: think about what you already do well and love. You had to learn this gradually, like everything else. If efficiency is important to you, accept that the improvement in your information reproduction and your life will be gradual.

4. Because of your individual learning habits, it may be easier for you to acquire skills if you see specific actions rather than just read about them. That is why I give links at the end of each chapter. Use them for interactive visual reinforcement of what you have learned.

I also think that you and your brain deserve praise. Check out the improvements you've made so far! The first time you took the unicorn list test, you only got a few correct answers. Now, after just this one chapter, you’re probably doing the following:

Play all 20 items from the unicorn list.

Acquire practical knowledge of the language of your memory.

Get an understanding of the basics of the mental folder system.

Learn what three components are needed to memorize anything: folder, image, glue.

Create 10 bodily folders to store information.

These are 35 individual units in a relatively short period. Congratulations! I hope you already understand that the possibilities of your brain are much more extensive than you thought a few hours ago. To train him, I strongly advise you to celebrate when you are doing something right. Don't gloss over your accomplishments. But when you mentally praise yourself, you activate the pleasure centers in the brain, get a boost of energy and strive to learn more. You will learn all about "small wins" in, but start stimulating your pleasure centers now - you deserve it!

With that in mind, let's start loading useful information into these folders!

Apply new mental folders in the book and in life

Now you have a place to store your information. It's time to get your brain to work. Let's start with one of the simplest examples we use in life: a simple shopping list. It is a good place to start because the points are concrete and tangible, and you can apply this method many times.

So, you need to go to the store and buy:

Liquid oil (namely fish oil and flaxseed oil);

Avocado;

Walnuts;

Blueberries;

Legumes;

Broccoli;

Any "superfruits" (pomegranate, acai berries, mangosteen, etc., I'll tell you more about this later);

Green tea;

Vitamins.

Before doing this exercise, remember two ways to maximize the effectiveness and usefulness of any mental storage system.

Method number 1: always start with the same folder and always proceed in the same order. Do not waste your energy trying to determine in which folder it is more logical to save some piece of information. Your brain doesn't care! The first item in the list goes to the first folder. One way to achieve speed is to optimize your thinking. So just do everything in order.

Method number 2: use strong glue, and more! The more actions you include in your images, the brighter and crazier you make them, the more reliable they will be.

Since this is your first attempt, I will become your folder guide. Begin!

1. On the feet - imagine how liquid oil (fish oil and linseed oil) is poured over them.

2. On the shins - Take an avocado and spread it over them.

3. On the thighs - crush a few walnuts between them.

4. On the buttocks - imagine sitting on a salmon.

5. On the stomach - Fill the stomach with spinach.

(As you already know, it is helpful to review what has been done in the middle of the exercise, so take a moment to mentally review the images in these folders.)

6. On the ribs - imagine huge blueberries jumping along the ribs, leaving purple spots.

7. On the collarbones - imagine beans falling on them.

8. In Mouth - Place the stem of broccoli in your mouth.

9. On the nose - imagine Superman eating fruit.

10. On the forehead - there is a green teapot with yogurt and vitamins.

Repeat what you see in these folders and test yourself.

Shopping list test in bodily folders

What have you kept for yourself

1. (on feet)

2. (on the shins)

3. (on the hips)

4. (on the buttocks)

5. (on the stomach)

6. (on the ribs)

7. (on the collarbones)

8. (in the mouth)

9. (on the nose)

10. (on the forehead)

Well done! You see, even without logical connections, the images that you vividly associate with actions and emotions are very well fixed in these folders. When I teach course participants this method, they always have the same questions. I will answer the most frequent ones before moving on to other methods.

Question number 1. And if there are more than 10-12 points?

There are two answers.

Notice how easy it is to see more than one image in one folder (this was the case with your feet and forehead). It is not difficult for the brain to deal with it; the main thing is that you have a good idea of the images. So, although there are only 10 physical folders, you can store dozens or even hundreds of pieces of information in them. For example, I once helped 40 middle school Sunday school students learn the titles of all 66 books of the Bible with just 10 folders.

Another option is to create more folders. Ten is a great number to start with; maybe you need more. Check out the additional resources link at the end of the chapter for great tips.

Question # 2. How can I delete information?

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it that much. Maybe sometimes you will be disturbed by information that is stored for longer than a certain period, but its deletion occurs naturally. If so, just don't repeat your list. By virtue of the principles of primacy and recency, it will be easiest for you to remember information that was saved not so long ago. If you need not to remember something, you can just imagine how you take this image out of the folder, and it will no longer bother you. Usually another question is more important: "How can I save information for a long time?" It is important to be able to reproduce it over a long period of time, and therefore we devoted a separate section to this issue in this chapter.

Question No. 3. Is it possible to store several sets of information in the same system at the same time?

Of course, you just need to give your list a name. We will do this in the next exercise.

Let's link these questions to another use case for your body folders. We have compiled a shopping list. Now let's create a to-do list in body folders. It will be a little shorter (only six points), but you get the point. First, just imagine the following vivid images, and then I will explain their meaning.

1. Imagine an oxygen mask on your feet.

2. On the shins, imagine running shoes.

3. On the hips, imagine a gymnastic balance beam on which someone is doing yoga.

4. On the glutes, imagine the brain doing push-ups, jumping, and other exercises.

5. On the stomach, visualize the chalkboard.

6. Imagine a pillow on the ribs.

Now, without peeping, take a short test.

To-do list test in body folders

What have you kept for yourself

1. (on feet)

2. (on the shins)

3. (on the hips)

4. (on the buttocks)

5. (on the stomach)

6. (on the ribs)

Did you answer most of the questions correctly? I guess so, and I want to point out one more thing. Can you see that I am giving you fewer hints with each exercise? Pay attention to this: the effect of learning is already visible - the brain does more and more on its own, without outside help.

So, to give a straightforward answer to question # 3, try a little test.

Shopping list: where would you find walnuts?

To-do list: where would you find a gymnastic balance beam?

Shopping list: what's in your mouth?

To-do list: what's on your ribs?

Shopping list: where would you find spinach?

To-do list: what's on your belly?

We could carry on like this all day, right? Note that when you named your lists, your brain kept them separate from each other. We've used body folders twice already; you can do this dozens of times at the same time without fear of mixing up the contents.

Optimal care for your brain

One of the reasons these lists are so content is that they highlight a crucial aspect of training your brain: taking care of and nourishing that organ properly. For many years I have been explaining to people that the mind and brain are like a muscle. The better it is exercised and nourished, the stronger it becomes and the longer it stays healthy. There is already a huge body of research that explains how this happens and why. Here I will present a short version - after all, not all readers are interested in detailed scientific justification.

(If you are curious about them, check out the link at the end of the chapter.)

Consider the items on your shopping list: You have 13 foods that are known for their positive effects on brain health. The first five (two types of oil, avocado, walnuts and salmon) contain a lot omega-3 fatty acids, which, in essence, function to isolate the "electrical circuits" in your brain. The rest: spinach, blueberries, legumes of all kinds, broccoli, "superfruits", green tea, yogurt and vitamins - contain many different antioxidants that affect not only the brain, but also the cardiovascular system. The brain uses about 10 times more oxygen than any other part of the body, and whatever is good for the heart is good for it too. Yogurt is one of the best sources of bacteria that are beneficial to the digestive system. Dr. Mark Hyman was one of the first to identify the critical link between digestive health and brain health; now it is being researched and constantly discovering something new.

This concept also applies to our to-do list. It contains behaviors that improve the intellectual capacity of the brain:

Oxygen mask - for correct breathing... We have already said that one or two deep breaths in and out soften the fight-or-flight response that interferes with learning. Regular deep breathing oxygenates the blood and improves overall brain performance.

Sneakers symbolize aerobic exercise... What's good for the heart is good for the brain.

A gymnastic balance beam and a yogi on it. We now know that exercise of any kind while maintaining balance(the most popular form is yoga, there are many others) help to strengthen the pathways of the nervous system.

Exercise brain symbolizes exercises for the mind. Activities that make him work hard (such as crosswords, sudoku, word games, etc.) are like strength training to his muscles.

The chalkboard symbolizes training in general... Studies of healthy people over the age of 80 show that they have two qualities in common: they feel a strong connection with others and are still learning new things. The pursuit of personal development throughout your life - reading, listening to educational programs, exchanging ideas with successful people, and more - really improves your brain health.

The pillow symbolizes dream... We now know that poor rest and lack of sleep affect mental performance in much the same way as excess alcohol. Getting a good night's sleep is one of the best ways to boost your brain health.

Entire volumes are devoted to each of these points. If you are not interested in scientific subtleties and you just want to strengthen your brain, start eating more of these foods and do more of these activities. Your brain will thank you.

Next storage system

Above, I promised that after reading this book, you will have two storage systems. We have worked with bodily folders, and you may have a question: "What will the second system be like?" You have already learned it. Remember the definition of a potential storage system? This is all that you can see with your eyes or in your imagination.

Go back to the “unicorn list” we made in the previous chapter. Can you imagine it? What was # 1? And number 6? No. 18? What was the number of the candle? And the spider? SUV? You can see it clearly, right? The Unicorn List is a great storage system in itself, and with numbers too.

Let's do an interesting exercise with this system. Now that the images from the "unicorn list" are loaded into your brain, imagine the situations described below as vividly as possible. Let them be slightly insane, no one will know about it anyway! Play out the scenarios in your head, maybe even in the form of cartoons. Spend as much time as you need to create the images, and then take a short test.

1. Unicorn opened eyes and saw that the phrase was written on it in bright red block letters with spray paint memory capabilities.

2. Power socket speaks foreign language on memory.

3. You enter tricycle in a huge closet with folders that fall in all directions.

4. Sixth graders read in SUV.

5. Your hand keeps several workers instruments.

6. You read jar label beer, drinking beer and save all this is forever.

7. Hockey stick aiming and drives five pucks into the goal with characteristic the sound of friction on ice.

8. Spider holding a magnifying glass and concentratedly looks through her at key.

9. Huge balloon(thirty meters in diameter) jumping on obstacle course.

10. Chervonets studying greek mythology, and then ponders which time it will come manager.

11. You two hours are using chopsticks, to break records eating sushi.

12. Superman pushes into the cannon a dozen plates.

13. Black cat gnaws base pyramids.

14. Severe gold coin rides a dolphin. The dolphin has v and denier their future and destinations.

15. A huge statue in the form of dollar sign glowing from overabundance energy.

16. Enormous red-white-blue candle from which you take out five individual workers instruments.

17. Wizard holds sand watch, on which the word is written several times in neon pink letters force.

Test

1. What did the unicorn see when he opened his eyes?

2. What did the power outlet say?

3. What did you hit on your tricycle?

4. What did the sixth graders do in the SUV?

5. What did you hold in your hand?

6. What three things did you do with a can of beer?

7. What and how did the hockey stick do with the pucks? How many were there?

8. What was the spider holding? And what was his gaze focused on?

9. On what the huge balloon jumped?

10. What did the gold piece study? What was he thinking about later?

11. How long have you been using chopsticks? And for what?

12. Which hero pushed cymbals into the cannon?

13. What part of which structure did the black cat gnaw at?

14. Who was riding the heavy gold coin? What did this creature have?

15. Why was the dollar sign lit?

16. How many tools did the candlestick use?

17. What was the wizard holding? What word was written on this item?

Do you understand what helped you remember this crazy text in just a few minutes? Take a look at the table of contents, look at the chapter numbers and keywords in the title of each one. Yes, you have just memorized the titles of all 17 chapters in this book in their exact order. Your memory has optimized this book - congratulations!

The key to long-term replay: spaced repetition

Often you will learn information that is important to remember for a long time - weeks, months or even years. In this regard, I have three news for you again: bad, good and excellent.

Bad news: repetition is necessary. Yes, you have to make an effort. After all, this is a skill, not a trick. And you will have to focus and repeat the information in order to keep it for a long time.

The good news is that you don't have to do endless repetition. During the learning process, both children and adults usually experience stress and spend a lot of extra time. To preserve information for a long time, follow the interval repetition pattern: every hour, every other day, every other week. When you find information that your brain needs to hold for more than a day, just repeat it in your mind at approximately the following intervals:

In one hour, while this information is still fresh in your mind.

In one day, after sleeping and doing something else for a long time.

A week later: if you come back to this information after 5-7 days, the neural pathway for long-term reproduction begins to strengthen.

To ensure that the information is retained, you can repeat it later, preferably shortly before using it. For example, quickly speak in your mind the names of the people you are about to meet; the presentation that you will be giving now; if you are a student - then the material before the exam. The main thing is that you do not need to constantly repeat information in order to retain it for a long time. The key is spaced repetition.

Here's the great news: you can effectively repeat anything in a very short amount of time. In these chapters on memory training, I tested you several times with sampling method... By repeating items in random order, rather than in succession, your brain does a lot of efficient work in a very short time. Let's do it one more time.

Interim test (go through it in your head, you don't need to write down the answers)

On your "unicorn list" that was:

a gold piece?

an electrical outlet?

Stop: Did you just repeat 6 of 20 points? Yes, but to do it at random, your brain has actually repeated all 20 points 6 times in a matter of seconds.

Body folders

What were your first, fourth and eighth bodily folders?

In the shopping list, what did you have:

on the hips?

on the buttocks?

On the to-do list, what did you have:

on the feet?

on your stomach?

Additional points

What is chapter 9 of this book called?

And chapter 3?

If you need to spy on the answers, do not hesitate. But I think that it will not be required. You see this information in your mind; Have you noticed how fast your brain works? How long did it take to repeat - a few minutes? Maybe less than a minute? Your brain loves speed, and take advantage of this feature during repetition.

How to memorize names

By far the most common problem many people want to solve with memory training is remembering the names of important new friends. This is an essential skill: names are deeply personal. As Dale Carnegie said, "The sweetest sound to any man's ears is the sound of his own name." It's true that the ability or inability to remember a name can seriously affect relationships of all types. In my seminars - both live and online - I spend hours on this topic. With the help of this book, you will be able to memorize names significantly better using a few simple techniques.

For a short time

There are two kinds of inability to remember someone's name. The first relates to short-term memorization. Have you ever met a person, shook his hand, heard his name and after 5 seconds could not remember him? It is at these moments that the vast majority of names elude you. Here's an effective remedy for this:

1. In the process of acquaintance, discard extraneous thoughts and listen. You forget names in 5 seconds, not because of bad memory, but because of inability to listen! Your brain thinks about 7 times faster than people speak, and it is easy for it to be distracted by something else while a new acquaintance tells you his name. You have about 5 seconds to make a first impression on a person, so consciously focus on only one thing at this time: listen to his name.

2. Repeat the name of a new acquaintance in a conversation with him 2-3 times. There is no need to go to extremes: if, when you met me, you said “Roger, Roger, Roger,” I would not want to communicate with you anymore. But if you said, "Roger, nice to meet you, Roger," it would greatly help you remember my name and sound natural.

Long term

The second problem concerns long-term memory. Have you ever met a friend (and were sure you knew him), but could not remember his name? To avoid these situations, train yourself to do the following:

Use spaced repetition method. Say the name of the new friend at the end of the conversation. The phrase "Nice to meet you, Dave" is much more useful to your memory than just "Goodbye!" At the end of the same day, brush up on the names of new acquaintances. At the end of the week, set aside 5 minutes to repeat them again. This repetition does not take long, but it is very beneficial.

Imagine names in your mind: turn them into images! Some names are already figurative: Rose, Lily, Leo, Roman, August - they have a visual component. For others, you will have to strain your imagination a little.

The image for the name Ivan can be a fairy-tale hero or a toy (Vanka-vstanka).

For Elena - the river (Lena).

For Mikhail - a bear (live, toy or cartoon).

It takes some time for the transformation of names into images to become a habit. But most of our clients are pleasantly surprised by how easy and fun this process can be.

The number of situations in which the system of mental folders can be applied is unlimited, as is the ability of your brain to imagine images. Experiment with these methods on your own, and if you have questions, contact the professionals.

Let's move on to work on the second pillar of your learning: Reading Intelligently!

Reinforcement of the passed and additional materials

This chapter is Memory Optimized ™. Visit www.planetfreedom.com/trainyourbrain Reading is a vital skill, and it’s not in vain that it is given so much attention in elementary school. Everyone knows that a child's poor reading skills significantly increase the likelihood of failure in school and in life in general.

So how would you describe your reading skills? Write down your answer.

I read (how?) ____.

Most often people answer:

Slowly;

Inattentively.

These are subjective assessments. You need to think carefully about your answer: now that you are a businessman, manager, leader, father, mother - or just an adult, your ability to read effectively even more important for success than in elementary school. Since you are reading this book, then, most likely, your income mainly depends on intellectual work, not physical work, that is, the brain is more important to you than muscles. And your main competitive advantage is the acquisition of new knowledge: the ability not only to keep up with others, but to stay ahead of them. Add to that the vast amount of information available to you, your competitors, customers, colleagues and children - and it becomes clear that reading plays a huge role, no matter who you work!

Therefore, my next statement will seem dubious to you: in all likelihood you are reading like a sixth grader.

Yes, you got it right. If you are like 99% of our clients, then you read these words the same way you read books in the sixth grade. Your method, reading speed and reading comprehension rate have remained unchanged since then.

And this is not your fault. It is not laziness or lack of ability; it’s just that you haven’t been taught how to use reading tools in a very long time. When was the last time? In the sixth grade. For many, formal instruction in how to perceive words on a printed page (or computer screen) begins in kindergarten and ends in high school. You may have had literature lessons for a few more years after that, but these were mainly about discussing books you read yourself. This is fine, of course, but you have not been taught to read correctly. Let's see what this led to.

What is this book about

Roger Sype's work doesn't tell you how and where to get a ton of money, get married successfully, or get a dream job. The main message of the book is to help a person to reveal their inner potential. To do this, readers are invited to:

  • activate internal resources;
  • write down smart thoughts from a book and conduct auto-training;
  • perform all the exercises given in reading without exception;
  • do not take time off from classes.

This bestseller is written easily, with humor. It is a pleasure to read it. Especially when you understand: your own brain can work many times better, it is only important to give it a push, set the vector of translational motion.

The book is recommended for reading to absolutely everyone: something useful will be found in it by men and women, young and old, professionals in their field and those who have not yet found their dream job.
The author teaches not only to develop imagination and logic, he teaches people to be successful and happy: for this you need to believe in yourself, forget about complexes, learn to communicate with people correctly. Of course, the effect will not be instantaneous. Perhaps the literature will have to be re-read more than once.

Liz, 44 years old:“At about 40 years old, I realized that I was living wrong, I wanted to change my destiny, my life. At that time, I worked in a bank, hated my job with all my heart and dreamed of being fired. But I was very afraid of losing what I had - I have children, a dog, a husband. This book was the impetus for me. I took training on the book, then listened to a course of lectures on the Internet and made up my mind. I retrained as a hairdresser, opened my own studio - now my business is successful, and I am happy. "

Igor, 52 years old:“I have never had high self-esteem, and when my wife left me, I completely lost faith in myself. He even stopped washing. Not to mention cleaning the apartment. Once on the Internet I saw a performance by Roger Sipe. His eyes were so bright as he gave his lecture. I was amazed and inspired by this man. I bought his book and started studying. And six months later, he met the most beautiful woman in the world. Now we live together, I believe that this is forever "...
